Amp blowing fuses
#1
Everytime it gets any power it blows both the fuses in it, it has blown 6 fuses so far. I'll replace the fuses and as soon as I turn the stereo on BOOM both fuses blow. The amp is a Coustic, I think it is 450w.

ya I have checkd the wire, it is like 4 gauge monster I think. I have been using this stuff for almost 3 years now The is scuffed a little where it went thru the firewall, but it is not deep or anything, it is just a scuff.

One thing we need to determine is WHEN the amp is blowing the fuses.
Does it blow as soon s you stick em in?
Does it blow when you turn the radio on like you stated?
If it only blows them when you turn the radio on I would try unhooking the speaker wires from the amp, install new fuses and try turning the radio back on.. If it continues to blow fuses then the amp has an internal short. Likely on the output section of the amp. If the fuses DO NOT blow then you likely have a short in your speakers or those wires bwteen the speakers and the amp.

i bought a JL thinking it would fix the prob......wrong.....same damn thing so I wasted 150 buck there, Im gonna try what F8L said and replace some wires if i have to, i think now that it might be the RCA cables going from the dech to the amp... if that dont work im gonna go nuckin futs and just tear th whole **** out and have it redone proffessionally.
I was really happy with my coustic amp for the three years I used it so IDK. It is not an amp prob now tho it wiring, it has to be.
