I used a G-tech Pro that I've been using for a while now. I know this is only one night but I wanted to share the time on my runs tonight. When I did my testing to compare the Hemi Hat (resonator box that connects to TB and says "5.7L Hemi" on it) to the Airaid MIT (tube that replaces Hemi Hat), I got a pretty good baseline of my trucks performance. The times with the Hemi Hat (still have it on my truck from testing) were an average of 0-60 in 7.29, 1/4 mile in 15.65 @ 91.0 mph, the average temp was 70*. Tonight I did the first G-tech runs since I got the Superchips tuner and loaded up the 87 tune. The 87 tune supposidly has no real performance tuning, it just changes the shift points and reduces the Torque Management. The times for my two runs were, 0-60 in 7.07, 1/4 in 15.46 @ 92.7 mph and 0-60 in 7.00, 1/4 in 15.40 @ 93.4 mph, the temp was 70*. So, the SC 87 tune lowered my 0-60 times by an average of .255 seconds and the 1/4 mile times by an average of .22 seconds, the mph increased by 2.1 mph... I'm not really interested in the actual time, don't know if my G-tech is accurate for that or not. I'm more interested in the time difference and that's what a G-tech is good for. This is only with the 87 tune, I'm going to do two more runs tomorrow night with the Hemi Hat on the truck, then I'm going to re-install the AirAid MIT for the two runs Wednesday night and compare the times to the Hemi Hat times, again. I can't wait to fill up with 91 oct gas and load up the 91 performance tune, I'm hoping for another .15-.2 reduction. Thought I would share what I found out tonight.
