I bought a set of piaa fog lights. They had a preassembled wire harness with them. This is a simple install I did it in 20 min. and have spent the last 2 hours trying to get it to work. :bang: Please help with what I am overlooking.
Positive lead w/ fuse it connected directly to battery. Neg. is grounded to a bolt on the frame. off the relay the lights are mounted and connected. The inside switch will not light up?????? There is an option on the in cab switch to attach it to another accesory, like the running lights. But I opted not. Would this be the culprit???? Should I hook this up to what???? Please help :bomb:

the relay needs to see a 12 volt input from the battery to power the lights, but it also needs another 12 volt input to trigger the relay. If you have it hooked to the battery, the switch inside the truck has to be connected to the relay on one side and 12 volts on the other.

12 volts from battery .......__

12 volts from switch ---- l __ l ----Chassis ground

Output to lights----------- l

Leave the center open, if it has a center post.

On the switch the wiring should be as follows:

12 volt switched (fused from ignition)---------- -/- Out to relay
l
switch

You can use the battery as the switch input, but I don't recommend it as the lights can stay on after the key is off. The ignition wire colors under the dash in the ignition harness are white and pink, you can use either one.
