I have done a search on this but cant find the exact info i am looking for. I have a 04 5.3 RCSWB CHevrolet 2wd, I want to put a cam in it without swapping pushrods, springs, reatainers, etc...or the stall. WHat cam would be the best bet for me. Which cam would be best if i did install a new coverter. I want the truck to be very streetable (daily driver) i just want to pick some power and sound. Thanks for the info. also what kind of increases can i expect.

I dont think they make one that will do what you want and avoid the work you dont want to do.

You would need to change the springs for the ls6 cam. I'll pm you about a cam

I Think You Can Go With Whats Called The Ls1 "hotcam". From What Ive Heard You Can Use Stock Valve Springs. Also I Think It Has A Nice Loppy Idle And Pretty Good Performance. I Think Its Like 500" Lift. Look More Into It.

hot cam requires a spring change, lift is .525.

i got a 212/218 cam in mine with stock springs but i dont recommend doing it. im putting springs in mine next weekend. but i have been on these springs for 90k and about 5k have been with the cam.

I put the Hot Cam in mine... It does have a nice lopey idle, but mine lost a noticeable amount of low end power. A stall converter would surely fix that though. As far as doing a swap without a spring change, I think Crane or Comp Cams makes one or two, or I'm sure theres more I havent heard of. I like the hot cam tho, makes excellent power above about 3000-3500, pulls really well all the way to 6500

I have a 2k vette cam, the most aggresive stock LS1 cam, in my truck. Lift is right at .500 so I didn't have to change springs. It deffinately picked up power, my little 4.8 rips from 3000 and up and has tons of new-found torque down low. :judge:
