One of the girls i work with took an ass whooping with her hemi truck by a 5.3L Silverado i'd done some work on. (i'm not posting this for a flame or trolling issue). the truck is a 4 door 2wd with the hemi and 20" wheel option. it has the 3.92 gear i believe, but with an open diff. her husband has put some type of dual exhaust on it and a 100 shot of nitrous. he asked me for some suggestions on making it faster after we beat her with the 5.3L truck n/a and smoked her with the 6.0L truck with her's on nitrous. any suggestions on programming? i haven't seen any laptop type programming available for hemi's that i know of so i assume there is a good handheld model to get??? i have also heard before that there is a way to eliminate the torque management by cutting a wire. how is this done??? next would be shift kit recomendations, what is the hot ticket out there??? i'm trying to help him make his hemi one of the quicker one's around so it stands out like some of my other customers trucks... any help would be appreciated, thanx guys

Well with the mods on my signature I was able to do a 14.87(Full street trim: 5290 lbs certified weight) in a density altitude of 2084 FT at 91.48 MPH. I added a underdrive and 180 STAT since that last run. Our biggest down falls are the TM, shift firmness and shift points.

Stock dyno: 262 RWHP corrected, 278 RWTQ corrected.(Second gear pull)
After mods: 292 RWHP corrected, 323 RWTQ corrected.(Third gear pull)

Our peak horse power is made between 5400-5700 RPM. The second gear pull stop at 5600 RPM. The third gear pull stop at 5200 RPM(It shifted into 4th and was about 126 MPH).

If you had a 2003, you cold kill the TM request by pulling a wire. The 2004 PCM and TCM are intergrated in the same assembly. So either a custom flash or the new 04-05 Superchips are your only option.

The Hypertech make good HP and TQ but does not touch the transmission and only kills about 20% of the torque management. Hope this helps.

By the way my truck is not the quickest Hemi out there, but it's completely street legal and passed emission with flying colors. I also use it as a truck all time for hauling and towing.

On the 04 models you'll have to get the SCs tunner for the torque management, from what I've heard, it kills it. The exhaust, depending on what set up may have hurt the bottom end grunt it has. Also if the truck has a open rearend spraying a 100 shot, there must be a bunch of wheel spin, got to be...................Check the exhaust, see what it has, and get back with us. There is a few guys at DTW that have got 12s in a quad with NOS and several others in the 13s. Guess what I am saying is, what mods have the silverado got, cause at some point in time with mods, you can only do so much to the rams, where as the silverado is wide open for mods.
