View Full Version : Vortech?

I've been wondering why Vortech is called Vortech. Marketing scheme or something new in engine design.

I did my Radix install last week and was surprised when the old manifiold came off and I saw the shape of the intake ports. The long rectangular shape with the V in the top is unlike anything I'd seen and I noticed that the upper point of the V shaped port was very clean. The injectors had obviously been squirting fuel into that portion of the head and then I assume that this causes a swirling action that might cause a scavenging action of some sort?

Is it this design, which I'm guessing is thought to be an improvement, the reason for the name Vortech?

If I should decide, somewhere down the road, that 323 CI just isn't getting it done, could I switch the Radix to a bored and stroked 6.0? Or... would a set of performance Vortech heads bolt up to a traditional small block? What options do I have here?

Thanks for letting me pick your brains and be the recipient of your experience and knowledge. I really appreciate it.

sounds like you have it all figured out. at least that is how i see it. the swirling design and shape of the heads is what i thought the reason was for the vortech name.
