8100 Tbyrn heads and whipple?
#1
hey guys, Im in the process of trading in a 2002 G500 mercedes on a 2500 burban, 8100 etc etc. this will be my daily ride and tow rig. I want to be able to stay with my friend excursion 6.0 with bully dog parts. I know there is no comparison for diesel to gas but I should be able to get close i would think. that and i also like spanking handas at red lights
So this is what im thinking.
Whipple with intercooler
Heads and cam.
Stainless works long tubes.
Corsa sport exhaust.
That set up should put me around 650-700 hp and 900-1000blt im guessing.
I came up with this just guessing on what the stock crank hp + Blower + headers + exhaust =
I am not sure what the tq will do. figure stock + blower is already 700 crank. then probably another 50 headers, 150 ish heads and cam..
Anyway let me know what you think of this set up.
thanks
Shawn

I think tunning wise i can use that LS1 edit, Im not up on my gm stuff like i use to be so im just starting to cram again and read everything i can. My friend has the LS1 edit that used on his 5.3 truck and 98 camaro when we truboed it. He said he can buy another vin or something like for $75-100 from them to let hem use it on another car.
I sent a email to tRyrne, Seem he is the only guy that have parts for the 8100 that i can find. He said the head and cam where good for 70 hp.
you all have anyother ideas?

Rayler is the manufacturer of the heads and cam for 8100.

There is a stroker kit for the 8100 from Rayler too. Read somewhere that the 8100 has pistons problem with boost, so, a set of Mahle pistons would be good investment. You can choose lower compression pistons if you plan on putting a supercharger.

thanks, Those are the ame parts Tbyrne has listed, cool to see that company does all that work. I didnt know about the piston problems with boost. I dont want to go all out yet on internal work. Heads are no big deal but i dont want to do a piston swap or anything like that.

If you do pistons then might as well do rods(next weak link) and APR the bottem end.
plus you will need new pistons if you want to go big on the cam(bigger valve reliefs)
My 8.1 will be coming out of the truck this winter, for a warming over.

is your buddies, powerstroke a 6.0L if so you have a far chance to catch him, unless his tranny ***** on itself or computer goes crazy. Those are common problems for FORD powerstroke. Good truck, would be great if ford would stand behind it.
