Last week, someone thought it would be cool to key my truck -- 5 foot gash down the side.

Ok, gotta expect that when you have something nice -- someone will be jealous and try to screw it up for you.

Tonight, after leaving the hospital where my Grandfather is dying, some ass in a ricer with a muffler thought he'd race me. When I wouldn't race he fish-tailed through the intersection, almost hitting me. Then at every light for 6 miles he got in the lane next to me and revved and then peeled out. When I continued to ingore him and change lanes, etc., he just got into the lane next to me and kept it up. At one point, when I slowed way down trying to get away from him, he slammed on the brakes, I guess to 'race me' and was almost rearended by another truck -- we'll get back to the other truck in a minute. After 6 miles of this, I looked over and saw him sitting next to us laughing. I immediately thought "he's about to do something stupid" and got the f**k away from him as soon as the light changed (thank STS for 600 hp). We got through the intersection and I thought even thing was cool...

BAM. He intentionally hit us. He hit the passenger door, the ec door, the rear wheel, and the kick panel behind the rear wheel, spun me through three lanes of oncoming traffic, spun himself out and almost hit two other cars.

I say intentionally, because of the three witnessrd who stopped... All three said he intentionally hit me -- fishtailed and then got off the gas when I left him, and then pulled up next to me and tried to 'Pitt' me (but was stupid and hit the door instead of the tail).

We're were all sitting there and I got out to look at the truck, etc., when the guy smokes a 180 (he was facing on coming traffic) and drove away. We called 911 immediatly.

Remember the guy in the truck who almost rear-ended the asshole? Heheh, he chased the guy and got his license plate.

Rest of the long story short: we waited 2 hours for an FHP to come. Nothing is going to happen to the guy. At most, he will get an improper lane change ticket, but since no one could identify the driver, not even that is likely -- even if the guy ADMITS he did it and admits he left the scene. In FL, nothing you say about a traffic accident can be used against you...

So now i have to call my insurance company and make a claim against MY policy.

Funny thing is the officer gave me his name, address, VIN and insurance card. It was almost like she was telling me to pay him a visit since she can't...

Lucky for him and his passengers you're a calm guy, somebody else might of chased him down and rammed him in the back. Most states hit and run don't mean anything unless it caused an injury....I think that law sucks.

This morning I have to go and see what's effed up underneath the truck. I already know the pass side brake is trashed from driving it home last night. I think the wheel is trashed too but it was too dark to tell.

I vote you remove all of the lug nuts from one side of his car at night with the exception of one per wheel that are barely on and let nature take its course. The one loose one per wheel will get him going down the road and hopefully a tree or telephone pole will take care of the rest when those come off!

I wouldnt have been able to keep from getting out and ripping that little sob out of his car and completely beating the shit out of him. My truck isnt near as nice as yours and I would still beat their ass if they hit mine. You definately need to come up with a good plan. Take him to court over that shit hopefully you got the names of the witnesses.

Damn thats about all i can say. I would take him to small claims court if the state wont do anything about it. He is responsible for his car no matter who is driving it.

First off I would like to say sorry to hear about your Grandfather. I recently lost my Grandpa 2 weeks ago. So with that on my mind, I definetely would have lost control in that situation. I hope everything works out fine.

BTW - the good news, is that despite going into renal failure with blood poisoning, a UTI, pneumonia, and fluid in the lungs, my 93 yr old grandfather is actually getting better. Just surviving til today has beaten the odds and today he's sitting up and asking for apple juice...

Congratulations man thats awesome that should help you feel alot better. I was in your same situation for about five years as far as your grandpa is concerned. My grandpa was in and out of the hospital then he finally passed away in 2003 at the age of 80. I know it can be tough but congratulations man thats great news. Now go kick that dudes ass.

If you ever move to IL, i can tell you right now a hit and run (aka leaving the scene of an accident) is a felony and you can be thrown in jail for that shit. My friend in a 93 fox body hit a guardrail, hit some of the posts that hold it up, left his car there, went to use a telephone at a strangers house, and the police tried charging him with leaving the scene of an accident until he told them what happened and how he didn't have a cellphone at the time.

And oh yeah, some people are total assholes...someone keyed my dads all stock 04 2500HD because i keep it maintained for him (wax it monthly, meguiars the interior, shampoo the carpet, etc.) so he always is proud of driving it, and them boom, nice scratched up tailgate across the chevrolet badging and down on the corner by the bumper.

Then someone decided they didn't like my truck being nice and shiny and no shit in the interior (if you can't tell yet im a clean freak, only thing allowed in my truck is smokeless tobacco thats pit in a bottle and drinks, no food at all) anyway, yeah they keyed my truck bed on the passenger side...pissed me off all to hell i was cruisin around with my shotgun behind my seat for awhile, luckily the meguiars NXT wax fixed the scratch since it wasn't too deep. Stupid ass wanna be thug motherf*ckers, live n a farming community so i know the only group who could've done it is the wankster ass drug dealers that im trying to run out of my town of 2200 people.

man that is unbelievable!!! There was a guy that did something similiar to my girl a few months ago (didnt hit her though) when he did it I got behind him and followed him home. In all truth you are a better more responsible man than I. My nerves were a reck for a week and my girl wont let me live it down. I hear about it every time I get pissed driving. She wasnt happy.

Update for you guys --

Truck still being worked on. Ended up that the axle/ axle tube was bent 2 inches. Made them replace the entire thing because I figured a hit hard enough to bend the thing 2 inches probably screwed un the gears. That's a six day delay for the whole rear axle.

They haven't even looked at the brakes yet -- think they may be able to bleed them but also think I ;am imagining the problem lol

Other update, Gramps passed away 3 weeks ago, but thanks all for the well wishing.
