how can I just download it, "save as target"

You can go to my website video section:

Scroll down to the All Diesel Challenge section, right click on the download icon and save target as. The download will take quite a while though, sorry the size is so large!

Well, I got kicked out of the track, kinda. I did 1 run then left. Why you might ask? Well, if you break 14 sec, you need a helmet. YUP, that's right.

That was with 100 octane, removed the tailgate, tonneau, spare tire and pass headlight. Ran in 4wd at 16deg timing while spraying meth. 10lbs boost. The other lane was a 4 door Mercedes that said V8 Compressor, he ran 12.7. HOLY CRAP

I was at least able to judge cam vs. cam. I ran a "technically" new best time. It doesn't feel like a new best, but at least I know the truck didn't lose any power. Here's the goods....

First run- 3000 launch and rear air suspension fully up.
R/T: -.157
60: 2.103
330: 5.908
1/8: 9.091
MPH: 77.53
1000: 11.829
1/4: 14.159
MPH: 95.59

Second run- 2700 launch and air suspension in the normal setting.
R/T: .228
60: 2.085
330: 5.896
1/8: 9.073
MPH: 77.90
1000: 11.79
1/4: 14.114
MPH: 96.11

So... clearly the smaller cam did not lose any power over the bigger one. Hopefully next week I can have the nitrous together.

Went to the track tonite and made 8 runs. More than ever before... but we didn't get around to using the Scuba gear until the 7th run. We had some Radix only tweaking to do first. Best run of the night was with the tiny scuba shot banging off the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift...

R/T: .448
60: 2.070
330: 5.886
1/8: 9.067
MPH: 77.84
1000: 11.782
1/4: 14.085
MPH: 97.41

The most fun run of the night was against a CTS-V and it went like this...

CTSV_______________H2
R/T: .140_________ .348
60: 2.456________ 2.146
330: 6.285________ 5.999
1/8: 9.330________ 9.209
MPH: 82.44________ 77.07
1000: 11.881_______ 11.951
1/4: 14.024_______ 14.276
MPH: 105.37_______ 96.38

But, ultimately, I Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda... didn't get a 13.xx.

Between banging the limiter on the tiny shot (which would have been a 13.9x), to not opening the valve on my rush to make what turned out to be the last run, it just wasn't in the cards tonight.

The truck pulled like a motherfucker when I hit the bigger shot on the way home, though  What I'd trade for one more run...

WOW!!! I shaved 0.44 seconds off my best time by adding a larger methanol jet and going down to 265/75/16 from 295/75/16. Now I actually chirp all 4 tires off the line. There were only about 10 cars/trucks there tonight so I did about 10 runs. Tried 1 in 2wd, lol, that was funny. Turned 15.xx

yup, i don't get it. I was at 14.7 a few months ago. I think the methanol is key. I am able to run 16 deg timing instead of 12. Of course, the smaller tires aren't hurting either. Can't believe I was chriping all 4 off the line. That's just silly. If I wasn't already deep in debt, i'd have slowhawk hook me up with a cam and headers and a good tune. Maybe next year if I don't blow it up by then.

That's pretty damn sweet.... and here I was trying to plot a way to get another race day to take you out... LOL

13.3..... can't touch it!

Can you tell me about your launch sequence? I'm assuming you are launching in 4w hi and then shifting out of it at some point? What do you rev to when you are in in 4 w high?

I ask because I've been launching in 4 wheel open (I have full time 4 wheel drive) but I could try 4 hi locked and shift out of it. Makes me a little nervous though! As it is I spin the fronts back and forth.... one hooks- one slips .. then they swap... it sucks.

4hi, rev to 5lbs boost(3000rpm) then floor it. shifts around 5600rpm, stays in 4hi the whole run. It won't shift out even if you try. once it hits 4th, it feels like a dog. luckily, that's pretty close to the finish line. Oh and i got weighed today at a local gravel place. 6140 with me in it. I weigh about 220.

I messed around the other day and did a little launch in 4 hi lock and the front of the truck felt pretty violent... I lifted and pushed the 4 high unlock button and it went in just fine... That got me wondering if I should try a whole run in 4 hi lock or if I should try to 60 ft in 4 hi lock and then go unlock or just stay unlocked as I have been.

With 4.10 gears and 34.5" tires, most of my run is in 1st and 2nd. I get into third for jsut a short while at the end.

What are your shift points set at?

mine won't shift from 4hi to 2wd at that speed. I have a hard enough time getting it out of 4wd before making the turn at the end of the track. that's embarrasing. lol. anyway, i shift at 5600, 5600, 8192rpm

and/or 66,124,199mph

hmm, never notice before that i have it set up not to shift out of 3rd. i swear it does though. whacky!!

Oh, and incase you don't see this in another post. I'm now at 15lbs of boost. YUP. The new crank pulley i put on today gave me a 50% increase in boost. WOW!!!!! Thanks L-Eater and ASP pulley

15lbs :eek2: That is scary. I'd blow mine up if I could make 15lbs because I'd spay on top of that, too! I can't be trusted with any power. Power corrupts absolutely

CHarris

I did a 4 hi lock launch on the H2 (that makes it 50/50 power instead of 60/40 with open diffs like normal). I just rolled into the throttle from a stop but it definitely launched much straighter. Instead of the normal torque steer back and forth that I get. I ran it up to the 1-2 shift and it still did fine. I shifted to 4 hi open as I rolled to the stop sign. The turn at the end of the street was odd though with the diff not unlocked yet. Made lots of clunking until it disengaged completely... Then it was back to normal 4 hi open. I'll have to try a launch off the stall tomorrow.

CHarris

If it all holds together... 12's are very doable with that whipple. You're starting to get out close to the edge. Can you raise your RPM level just a tad? That might get you there with only 12 spi boost.

New best yesterday. :( Was hoping for a 14.3X, but that it for this year.

Sunoco 100octane, final timing advance was start at 30* ends up at 32*

the E-fans worked great, was able to cool the iron heads in the staging lanes to prevent knock.

Thats all I got for this year, who know what next year could hold  :eyes:

Well, I just got home from the track and it SUCKED. I had to let the air in my tires down to 25lbs and I was still spinning BAD in 4WD off the line. It was 45deg out and the track was slick. The parking lot had huge puddles everywhere. What a dump. Anyway, I think I broke something. My last run of the night I let off the gas right before I crossed the finish line cause I heard a strange noise, or two. One noise was the boost line that came flying off under my dash. It was filled with methanol. Now my boost gauge doesn't work. The other noise I can't explain. At light throttle it isn't there, at any amount of boost it makes this weird, screeching noise. I was thinking it sounded like an injector was clogged or something. Totally guessing, no idea. Even on 15lbs of boost I was able to run 18deg timing with no KR. I was amazed. Here are the final results.

r/t 1.132
60' 1.942
330 5.401
1/8 8.319
mph 83.94
1000 10.868
1/4 13.066
mph 101.88

that 60' was not my best and the trap speed was not my best. Best 60' was 1.884, best time was 102.56

I just couldn't put it all together at the same time, damn it.

http://img456.imageshack.us/img456/7954/1301mq.th.jpg

hope you can read this timeslip. If i figure out what the noise is i'm going back sunday and WILL get 12's.

I'm not at all happy with it. I was spinning off the line and hitting the rev limiter. I can easily hit high 12's if the track is prepped right. Now i need to figure out the scary ass noise.

lol, i just meant that the 60' was off by almost 1/10th due to poor track conditions meaning i could have/should have been in the 12's. Gotta figure out how to not hit the rev limiter too. hmmm

If it helps with the "Confidence Factor" any, I made this pass in qualifying for the QD class at the DHRA Diesel Nationals in Indianapolis. The QD class is a 12 second index class. I'd like to go back to a 1/4 mile track this year for a test and tune night to run an 11. The above pass is the only full 1/4 mile run I've ever made. All the tracks local to me are 1/8 milers.

I dont know if thats "exactly" what it is, but its close. I made those calculations based on the scale at the dump. I have done absolutely no weight reduction at all on this thing. I run with the tailgate, spare tire, full length steel running bars, tool box in the back, complete interior, trailer hitch, and all the extra crap thats included with the LT trim package. I am going to get it over to the CAT scales this summer for a real figure.

I run a mechanic school called Central Penn diesel Institute, on the 22nd of May we are holding a truck show. my question is this, does anyone know were I can find a mobile chassis dyno that is capable of dynoing the high out put pickups that are out there. I am located north of Harrisburg Pa. I need to find some one ASAP so I can start advertising for the event. I am new to this Blogging thing so if I can't get back to this post responses could be sent to dieselteach@yahoo.com thanks for the help
