WELL WE WERE OUT RACING A LITTLE SAT. NIGHT AND THIS GUY IN THIS GT WANTED TO GO OUT TO WHERE EVERYONE USUALLY RACES AND LINE EM UP. HE SAID ALL IT HAD WAS AFTERMARKET EXHAUST AND THATS IT. IT WAS A 5 SPEED. ANYWAY WE GO OUT THERE AND HE HEATS EM UP, BUT I JUST CALMLY ROLL TO THE LINE A KICK HER IN 4 HI AND STALL IT UP TO ABOUT 2800 AND WE'RE OFF. HE HAS SOME WHEEL SPIN OFF THE LINE SO I JUMP AHEAD BY ABOUT 1 1/2 LENGTHS. I HOLD HIM OFF UNTIL ABOUT 85 AND HE STARTS TO PULL ON ME. BUT HE DIDNT PASS ME UNTIL ABOUT 95 OR SO. SO THRU THE 1/4 HE WAS AT MY REAR BUMPER. SINCE MY TRUCK RUNS ABOUT 90 IN THE 1/4 IN THIS HOT ASS WEATHER I MADE SURE THAT I CHECKED WHERE HE WAS WHEN I HIT 90. ANYWAY IT WAS CLOSE BUT I SQEAKED OUT THE WIN TO THE FINISH LINE. BUT DAMN HE WAS PULLIN ME TOP END. :( BUT THATS OK IVE GOT SOMETHING FOR HIM IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS IT LOOKS LIKE THIS 220/220 564/564 112LSA AND LS1 FANS. NOW I DONT THINK HE'LL COME CLOSE AFTER THAT. :drive:

they wont stand a chance after the cam it puts all the power up top

have any plans for the heads?

I have a similar cam with more duration, who makes that cam is any advance ground in? Let us know how it turns out thats a good choice.

I Have No Plans For The Heads I Just Want To See What I Can Do With A Cam Only Truck. Also The Cam Is Coming From Comp Cams. I Dont Know About The Advance Question Though, What Exactly Is That And What Does It Do. I Am New To All This Cam Talk So Im Trying To Learn As Much As I Can.

Nice kill, but that guy cant drive at all. I had a 02' GT with a Auto and it ran 14.2's@96 all day long in the heat. The 5sp should be running around 13.9 stock @ 99.

Yeah I Know He Should Beat Me, But Thats What Street Racing Is All About If You Cant Hook And Cant Drive Thats Your Problem. Thats Why Ive Got That Little Button That Says 4hi. Cuz I Wouldn't Be Able To Hook Otherwise.

I understand 100% about traction and street racing. Thats why I said nice kill. 85% of the guys with GT's cant drive. So it makes it fun to screw with them.

so in an automatic truck what is the best way to drive. I know it may sound dump to all you experienced drivers but what is the right way?

well i just went to the track last friday since i put the stall in, and in the hot ass weather with a race weight of 5075. i finally got into the 14s. first 14 second pass was 14.97 with a 2.14 60', then i backed it up with a 14.96 with a 2.14 60'.

and to the question about how to drive an automatic, i guess it just depends on what you have done to it. since i have the shift kit in mine i can hold my shift to whatever i want. i manuall shift because i had allen at nelsons set my shift points a little lower for everyday driving cuz i didnt want to rap 6000 rpms every time i floored it on the street. but when i take it to the track or really line up for a race i hold it to about 6000 in first and about 5800 or 5900 in second. thats where i have seen the best times.
