Wow, it seems that Dodge is the only one right now doing good in the performance part of their lineup, But maybe not the most economical, but who cares. I wish GM had this type of attitude. I bet Dodge has really profited in sales do to this performance attitude.

Ya they do but their stupid at it. At the rate their going at when making these srt-8 models they'll probably put it in a 3500 dually quad cab. I mean shit why would they put it into a regular cab and put a manual behind it. They made the huge engine but are putting them into monster vehicles.

I'd like to see it in the RCSB with the auto tranny that the SRT 10 quad is running from the D's.

No flame, just friendly contrast. I certainly hope a factory 380 hp & 460 tq SuperCharged truck will beat a factory 345 hp & 375 tq Normally Aspirated truck, if not, something's wrong.

I can't even get a lot of the Hemi guys around here to bite. They hear the whine and turn away. I was talkin more about N/A vs N/A. But hey, who knows. If Dodge can make the 6.1 run like it should, they outta give me a solid run for my money, assuming I don't boost the crap outta mine :burn: It would be nice if they had something above what's there now performance wise but under the SRT ( read something more affordable ).

Well, if the Hemi guy or any other guys knows his cars and trucks, he should know what a Lightning is and what it'll do. I would race you or any other car or truck, but I'm also a realist. It take would MANY mods for my truck to even compete with a stock Lightning, I would racing knowing I would get my ass kicked, no shame in trying though!

I was at the track this last weekend, a Stock 03L with drag slicks on did some runs, his best run was a 14.11, and he started off at a 14.6, keep in mind this is 2200 ft in the air so the times are off by at least 1/2 a second. But my point is that isn't blazingly quicker then my hemi, without his slicks it would be pretty close. ;)

I'm just barely over stock, but a CAI and exhaust make these trucks sound waaay meaner than they actually are. I might be close to low 13's, prolly still sittin mid 13 honestly. I'm not one of those assholes that thinks my truck is the fastest thing ever. I just like to play sometimes and it's disappointing when no one will take me up on it, ya know? And I'm in Kansas City, KS.

Heat soak absolutly kills our power. And I'd be willing to bet that the guy didn't know how to drive. That's times for a stock 99-00, not an 03. He shoulda been able to at least hit 13.9 even with the heat, unless he had something horribly wrong with his truck. Mine baselined at 13.83@102. That was bone stock on street tires. I wasn't tryin to get into a pissing contest with anyone, I was just giving you guys some good natured ribbing.

It was a dark blue one, and I believe those are the 380 hp ones. He did pull off for a bit and let it cool down, then started to run better so your probably right, it was heat soaked. It's the same deal with the hemi, doesn't respond well when hot. So really with the elevation and heat, hes got a mid 13 second lightning. :D

If it was a dark blue, like a dark dark blue, that was an 02 and you're right, that's the 380. So yeah, if he'd been a good driver, he'd have a mid to low 13 sec truck.
