Ok, Slowprocess and I have been discussing this and lets see what yall think

Lately we have been harassing each other on which state will be the fastest.

Well, it's time to lay some ground rules.

Minimum entries to qualify is 5 as in 5 trucks to rep a state(tell me what you think)

States with more can drop off the slow qualifiers (tell me what you think)

if your state isn't going to qualify you can join another state that is reasonably close to your own (tell me what you think)

Lets put 10 bucks each into a pot for the winning state to either get drunk on, pay gas bills on or do what ever. (tell me what you think)

This isn't to haggle people out of money or anything like that. This is all friendly and to increase the competition. Basically you take your fastest slip of the weekend to a designated person (greggo) and he will keep them with your state marked on it. At the close of the event, the state that comes out on top will win. if MS has 8 entries but LA has 6 and TX has 5 well, we can either add a member to the TX to make six and MS can drop two of it's slowest or we can stick with 5 and LA can drop one and MS can drop 3. Does that sound fair.

Btw, I know LA will have a shitload of trucks and most run in the 12's. they are the state to beat. All i can say, is bring your A game if you plan on competing in our (southern forum) event.

Belle Rose LA. Southwest of NOLA. Trust me, if you want a fast et this is the track to be at. Sea Level and i swear it slants downhill. It hooks like a mofo and everyone sets new times when the go.

Sounds like a good plan but whats going to hurt us is how much test and tune time is there going to be ? I mean hell if we only get one pass thats not fun so do times from friday count ?

When is the thunder shootout? I may make it but probably wont run my truck unless a miracle happens and it grows .7 liters and the radix fairy visits..

I think any time you post for the weekend should count. Cause i know slowprocess is planning on getting there early enough to race in the normal bracket race. Considering that i am gonna give him a piggy back ride from my house to the event, i will probably enter in the friday event as well, so yea, i think friday should count. Keep in mind, 03, we had all day sat to test n tune....so hopefully we will have the same this year. last year blew on sat.

I'll try to be representin LA, but don't expect anything good. Maybe a 14. If I get my TC, shift kit and heads on. Oh yea and some tires. :drive:

This looks to be the best shootout to date for the truck guys. As long as we don't let them dick us into running Camaros on the first test run like last year. From the looks of things, alot of the camaros won't be wanting to line up with some of these trucks. :devil:

There isn't a truck class per se. The trucks run in the TARGET ET BRACKET RACING class. I don't think the age of the truck is a problem. The general rules state that it has to be GEN II - GEN IV engine, so I don't believe the 454SS's can run, even though they're EFI and the class rules state that the Brackets are open to all GM-powered vehicles. :(

TARGET ET BRACKET RACING

The Target ET Bracket class is open to all GM powered vehicles.
Bracket Racing Classes will be on a standard tree, with handicapped starts.
Driver is responsible for dial-in ET for each round.
No minimum raceweight enforced, but General Rules for appearance to apply. Any tires permitted.
Any power adder permitted.
Starting line electronics or throttle delays/stops prohibited.
Any size engine permitted.
Any transmission type permitted.

Funny that you should say that white I just got through having an interesting conversation with my engine builder and it seems a forged 408 could possibly be in the works. Then I could go with a 300 shot :devil: . My little 10# bottle doesnt have a prayer. :jest:

Yeah Curtis we usually leave on Friday and camp out all weekend, and then come home after you get knocked out, and cleaned up..on Sunday..
think I got back in town about 1AM Monday morning last year..
but that was also because I blew a tire on the trailer comin back

yep, as soon as you lose, start packing up and get ready to head out. however, since i'm not dragging the camper this year, i might pack up and wait to see a winner if it isn't me..

just make sure to bring some coolers of drink such as water, soda and beer (even if you don't drink), plenty of food and a grill. if you don't have a grill, there will be plenty of us that do and i won't mind sharing.

Hell, why not? I have a few mods planned. If I am able to get them all done I should be 13's on motor :D May even see about 100 shot :burn: Maybe then I can get in the 12 sec club. Don't know if the finances will allow though.

Oh yea, I know. If I get everything I want to get done, it will be a totaly different set up. Looking at some heads, a bigger cam, stall, shift kit, few other mods 26" MT drag radials, smaller tires up front etc :D :burn: I think it could happen :cheers:
