I'm trying to figure out what the best way to launch is for a 1/4 mile run. I tried it in 2wd and that was a joke. spun way too much, lost over a second compared to my 4wd run. post up your prefered technique. This is all new for me and don't wanna break anything, lol.

put it in 4wd. stall it up around 1000-1200 prm and when the green light pops floor it. it shouldnt spin at all being a heavy ass 4wd. what did it run?

oops, i was holding the rpm at 2500. It ran 14.4 according to my gtech. The first 6 sec or so i felt like i was looking at my watch saying "ok, you can go now". then it took off. 0-60 was 6sec flat.

I usually brake stall it to about 1500rpm, leave in 4hi, then hit the button to 2hi as soon as I can. Yeah....I definately can't leave in 2wd!

do the hd's have a higher stall converter? stalling up to anything over 1600 rpm in my truck is a smoke show....yeah, i forgot...stomp it on the last yellow. im used to instant green night :)

Ive been launching in 2wd and managed to cut a 1.9 60'
Im runnin quicker times and dont have many problems with traction letting the rears down to 20 psi.
Why do you guys have so many traction problems? Do they prep the track you run at?

Try doing this with a stick shift and manual 4wd. I feel like a like a woman on a stairclimber.

At the weight of my Hoe, I don't brake loose anyway. So, I run it up to 1600ish and floor it without spinning. Fastest 1/4 @ 15.1 and 91.5mph in a 7,000lb SUV.

My Silver L cuts 1.6 60' like a swiss watch! (2wd & slicks) The red beasts best with Sal pedaling it netted 1.54 60' w/a 10.48 @ 131mph (that was super charged) The turbo should be even better!!

It's an '04 Z71. GVW is 6800 and the wheels/tires are 150+. So, my bad, I'm actually about 5400 right now. Thanks for teh http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/blwright/Smilies/slap.gif
Either way, you boys with pickup's got it easy. Add a fully-framed steel cap with rear A/C, seats, glass, and a hatch to yours and you're in a Hoe. The Avalanche is even HEAVIER!

I can break them loose any time I want on the streets with Red. You just have to be easy with the throttle. I do have a 00' Silver lightning( yes I have 2) that makes just a lil over 600rwhp that still uses a roots blower. Silver lost a cylinder several months back and will be ready to hit the streets soon and then I can play around on the streets again!!

Your 1/8th is 1sec. and MPH is 5 faster than mine with a Whipplecharger (out of the box) so if you're the same weight, it must be your home-made tuning. If head work, a cam and Thorley's can out perform a Whipple blower at the same weight, you should box it and sell it!
Although, my tranny's been slipping, too... :argh:

I have a 3000 stall and the tuning is the other half of it. Part throttle tuning is the most underestimated part of tuning thats why hp tuners or something like it is the shit. I wouldnt be suprised if you got hp or ls1 that you could knock off at least .5 if not more with the right combo you should be able to destroy my times.

I need to run 13's without spending more than a $1000 more on my motor. The tranny budget is completely different, which will cover the new TC. Tune myself? No way! I'm not that guy...

Yes the blower is gutted. Doing so alowed all of the OE components, vacuum lines and electrical to be used.
I will be switching it to a different intake soon as they are released. Just to clean up the engine bay but for now its fun to watch people when they first get to look at it and scratch there heads. :D
