Would not even open the home page DirtySouthR/T 07-08-2005, 06:28 PM I've had the same problems XLR8NSS 07-08-2005, 06:34 PM :( It's being worked on. The servers are actually pretty damn fast but, there is a software/database shortcoming with VBB that would probably kill the fastest servers when it rears up. :bang: TXsilverado 07-08-2005, 07:37 PM yeah its REALLY slow late at night. 1slow01Z71 07-09-2005, 06:23 AM Thats just cause they dont like you tx. :jest: I dont have a clue what VBB is but hey if thtas what the problem is then okey doke. 1slow01Z71 07-12-2005, 04:54 PM Any update on speeding up the server. I was going to reply to a post and type a long azz reply and it said server too busy when I hit the back button my reply was gone its kind of anying but I realize ya'll are still working out all the kinks. gr8twhite 07-12-2005, 05:24 PM I got the same thing about five min ago, server is busy. XLR8NSS 07-12-2005, 05:28 PM It's really just a limitation in the software that kills the server. Brains has been looking into fixing it for a while but, there is no easy solution. Throwing more server at it won't do much, the server we're on is pretty damn stout as is. :( One tip I always recommend after typing a long reply is this. Once done with your reply highlight the entire thing and hit Control-C(Copy). That will copy the text to the clipboard. That way it will be on your computer if something bad happens and all you have to do to recover it is hit Control-V(Paste). That has saved me from retyping a big reply several times over the years. :) 1slow01Z71 07-12-2005, 05:29 PM Yup I have started doing that good tip though. Have you thought about seperating them. Trotorx2 07-12-2005, 09:44 PM I get the "Server too busy" even when I try to open up the forum. It happens at least once in ever thread I try to read lately. Hope it gets better. white1 07-12-2005, 09:57 PM The server is too busy to let me post in this thread :ripped: SSlow 4.8 07-12-2005, 10:33 PM one positive thing from the "server busy" messages..is that it just goes to show how many ppl are getting on here and either posting or at least reading. However, to upgrade this server or whatever it is to make it work better (since i have NO idea what im talking about, lol), if this all costs money... maybe there should be a small one time fee to get this up and going better... hell, one dollar from everyone might be enough... So what exactly needs to be done to make the server be able to handle 1000+ people at one time? Brains, care to elaborate? Nine Ball 07-13-2005, 12:36 AM Its not a money issue. Our server is more than capable of handling this site and ls1tech. Its a software issue, as VBB isn't designed to handle this much traffic easily. Unfortunately, VBB is the best software available right now. So, the slow software makes it appear that the server has problems. jfree81762 07-13-2005, 12:53 AM Ahh the good ol days when you saved up your minutes for more time on the BBS. CHAGO 07-13-2005, 02:13 AM me and the server fight nightly :( onyx 07-13-2005, 03:33 AM me too me too!!!! XLR8NSS 07-14-2005, 07:34 PM Some decisions are being made about the speed issue. I'll let you guys know more when I hear it. Things could be ALOT better very soon. :) kbracing96 07-14-2005, 11:49 PM Some decisions are being made about the speed issue. I'll let you guys know more when I hear it. Things could be ALOT better very soon. :) Good, cuz I'm geting tired of waiting for pages to load, getting "server busy" or geting "waiting on perfomancetruck.com" crap at the bottom of my browser. Let get this fixed :judge: :judge: :) Brains 07-15-2005, 06:41 PM The new server has arrived :headbang: Now its going to take a while for configuration, so be prepared for some funky ups and downs. I'm going to need a half hour or so of downtime to move data around, but I'll try to do that in an "off" period as to least affect everyone. XLR8NSS 07-15-2005, 06:45 PM Awww shit, Brains is getting ready to wreak havoc. :headbang: Trotorx2 07-15-2005, 07:46 PM Awww shit, Brains is getting ready to wreak havoc. :headbang: Thats  as long as the site workes better :) graystepside 07-16-2005, 11:47 PM yeah i have been having those problems too, but it seems to be getting better. graystepside 07-16-2005, 11:49 PM yeah i have been having those problems too, but it seems to be getting better. well, so i thought. after i typed my first line and hit "post quick reply" it just stood still and did nothing so i hit stop and typed this in. lets try again |
