I'm really tempted to jump on Tbyrne's specials

basically rounded off from his post;
$4000 installed for the Non intercooled radix
$5600 installed for the intercooled Radix.

My truck is my step side;
Dennys Aluminum 4" nitrous Drive Shaft
Built 4l60/65E tranny Jag Performance/Transgo Shift Kit
Yank 3000 Stall coverter with 3.0 STR HD eaton posi with GM 4.10 gears
Arizona Speed and Marine lts- race pipe Billy Boat Catback
Comp cam 221/218 High lift Cam
Thunder racing Hardened 7.4 pushrods
Comp LS1 springs and Ti retainers
Gm 2005 Electric fans
etc...

My enviroment and driving habits are; I basically drive it whens its nice, late May through Late November, No winters,Temps ranging from 50's to high 80's sometimes 90"s (in wich I don't drive my truck anyways when its in the 90's alot)

Not much stop and go at all, I live in the mountains

My drag strip days have slowed down tremendously.

Is the intercooler worth the extra $1600?

I think the non intercooled would be great for my wallet and tranny.
I'm at 13.5's now with my cammed 5.3 and full street trim nitto 305 555R drag radials.
The Tranny is still going strong

what do you guys think?

Just add methynol injection and the non-intercooled kit would be perfect for what you want.

If you can swing the 16-hundred, do it. Or, wish you had, later.

I would go for the nonintercooled one with a little meth for when you really want to hammer on it. If you decide that intercooling is needed, then you can always upgrade later. :)

you will want the intercooler eventually. If you get a progressive meth system (about $500 or a little more) you may be able to start spraying at 3lbs of boost, but not before. If you use a standard kit you wont be able to spray before 5 or 6lbs at the earliest. This means alot less timing in the lower range. Meth is a great addition to an intercooler, not much of a replacement in my experience... at least not for a street vehicle.
