Nine Ball 07-04-2005, 09:56 PM for a 6.0 L, I'd go with something like a 232/232, less than .600 lift if it is a daily-driver, and at least 114 LSA. Mr. Sandog 07-05-2005, 01:22 AM Do you have an aftermarket TC, or do you plan on getting one? If you have one, where does it stall (or, if you plan on getting one, where will it stall)? I have a Yank SC3000 stall converter. xp3nd4bl3 07-06-2005, 04:41 PM I would take a look at the Thunder Racing CheaTR cam. It's got a strong exhaust bias which will complement your FI well, and a wide LSA which will help it behave well on the street. litreddevil 07-06-2005, 08:25 PM I would take a look at the Thunder Racing CheaTR cam. I'LL SECOND THAT whitt1 07-06-2005, 09:53 PM I'm running a Compcams custom grind 228/232,.588/.595,115+4,I'm also running 1.75 Comp Pro Magnum rocker arms,Comp 978 dual valvesprings,Comp R lifters and Manley hardened push rods.I have plenty of lowend power and the power peaks at 5900rpm I dynoed to 6600 with very little power dropoff. ranwalk 07-07-2005, 08:44 AM If you can wait a little bit, I should have some dyno numbers with mine in about a month or shortly after. moregrip 07-07-2005, 05:38 PM If you can wait a little bit, I should have some dyno numbers with mine in about a month or shortly after. which cam? moregrip 07-07-2005, 05:39 PM What's the best cam for my 6.0L whipple charged truck. I believe we are being ignored :jest: rosscob 07-08-2005, 10:47 PM I used an '02 Z06 cam in my Whippled 5.3 and ran a 14.02 @ 99.08 When i swapped the 6.0 in I used a comp 212/218 .558/.563 115. On my first trip to the track I ran 14.27 @ 97. The really disappointing part was that my 60 ft time was 1 tenth quicker. I also have doublts that the cam is degreed correctly. I"m going to check that this week. Power down low is awesome! ranwalk 07-09-2005, 06:43 AM I believe we are being ignored :jest: Nope, not ignored, just putting yall on hold for a bit :jest: Sport Side 07-09-2005, 09:52 PM Nope, not ignored, just putting yall on hold for a bit :jest: Alright then.... what is the intake valve closing point @ seat duration? DanaliHD 09-06-2005, 10:17 PM ranwalk, what cam did you go with and are you happy? L-EATER 09-07-2005, 07:44 AM I just saw this post. I have had an '02 LS6 cam, an Comp custom grind which was like 550 lift or so and 222/228 on a 114. I am now running an off the shelf Comp which is right around .600 lift and it is 224/230 on a 113. The LS6 cam did absolutley nothing for performance. The first Comp was good for about 20 hp over stock and I am not sure about the current cam 'cause I haven't dynoed yet plus I cahnged other stuff, but I really don't see much difference in them. The Whipple doesn't seem to care much about the cam specs (as long as it is in the ball park) ranwalk 09-07-2005, 08:07 AM My current cam is a 216/218 on a 114lsa custom from Futral. I like it. It doeasnt have a very aggresive lope at all, kinda keeps you in a sleeper mode, except my damn exhaust is loud as hell, lol. I have been through 3 different cams in 3 different 6.0 setups. I tend to agree with L-eater. Havent seen any huge gains betwen the 3. I made 442rwhp with a stock 6.0, and now I'm at 461rwhp with the cam and some mild head work. What i'm curious to know is how accurate the correction factor is on a forced induction engine. The stock 6.0 was dynoed with 59 degree temps, and the heads, cam 6.0 was dynoed at 101 degree temps. I plan to take it back this winter just to see if there is any difference in the numbers then. |
