I know I need some saftey devises but I not sure if I want to step up to a Maximizer or not...

I just run mine off of a manual button.

Just go with a timing tuner... like ramcharger.... Its a timing retarder and windowswitch
and WOT switch

The retard function would not work with the Nissan setup. But a good idea to run something like that if you want the "insurance".
