Just installed the new Torque Converter and TransGo

I have to say that I am very happy with both. The converter flashes between 2600-2800 rpms. It is a PTC converter, and I could not be happier with my choice to buy from them. Kenny is the owner and is very helpful and friendly. I give him 2 thumbs up.
I installed everything myself, and although it was time comsuming the TransGo was not nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. The shift kit is 10x better than the HPP3 shift firmness, because it changes depending on how much gas you are giving the truck, when the HPP3 seemed to shift the same at 1/4 throttle as it did when it was floored. I only installed 2 washers, because I didn't want it to shift too hard, and I am very happy with it. It will scratch second gear on demand and definitely still has a punch going into 3rd.
Low 14's her I come!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Their website is www.ptcrace.com
Give Kenny (he is the owner) a call, and tell him that you want to know about the converter that he built me.
Mine is a 12", but he can build you whatever you want. I paid right at $260 for mine. I have talked to a few other guys that run them in their trucks and nobody has anything bad to say about them. My only complaint is that he sent me a converter for a 700R4/4L60E instead of the LS1 4L60E first. So, I had to wait for him to build and overnight me the correct one. But he was very helpful and got my problem taken care of really quickly.

Will Kenny build you what ever you want? How long did it take. I've come to realize that the Vig is just the **** i've been in car with a bunch of differnt one and the Vig seems to be the best. I would love to hear more about yours, is it a 2800? Or 3000 stall. It is a lockup isn't it?

Well, it stalls at about 2600-2800. But it is supposed to be a 2800 stall. I had a Vigilante 2800 in the 2000 Camaro SS, and never had a problem with it. But I wanted a larger converter for my truck for towing purposes. So I stayed with a 12". Kenny has a guy that he gets the cases from, so he picked up a stock LS1 converter case, and built the whole inside.
I am going to try and make it out there to the dyno day on Sat. Not to get dynoed, but just to BS with a few of you guys.

Cool i would really like to take a drive in it and check it out. I want a 3000 stall, i installed a 2500 in a buddy's truck that will be out there with me on Sat. We hope to make big #'s from stock trucks. I will be in a 02 pewter ext cab, with an H&H sticker on the back. What does he charge for a 3000? Most converters jump in price from around $280 @2500 to $800 for a 3000.

I am picking up a Yank ST 3500 this weekend and I sort of want a idea of what it launches like. Have you hit it from a stop yet, and how bad is tire spin? What did you run before the converter?
I know I will have a lot of tire spin going with that high of a stall <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> but I will have slicks.

hyde....If I were you I'd give Kenny a call and tell him what you want and see what he can do. I told him that I wanted my converter to have higher stall than the 2500 that he normally builds them at, and he said he could stall it up for me. And I told him I wanted it to stall at about 2800. And he hit it right on the money. I am very happy. Tell him that Chris Cote told you to call him, he'll remember me. I paid under $300 for mine.
KRAZY J....I had very little problem at all with tire spin before the converter. But now I have a MAJOR wheelhop problem. I plan getting a set of slicks to run at the track, so we'll see what happens.

Are you going to the July 14th meet because I should have mine in, and we could line up just for fun.
Almost forgot, she's only a 4.8, so be nice. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
