Default 1/4mi racing the family SUV

Pulled into the local drag strip with my 01 Tahoe.Tech inspector does`t care to look to under the hood. The competitors with slower cars and trucks in the staging lanes sense an easy kill.A Ford F150 ext. cab bits first the tahoe turns a 15.98 to his 16.40.Next is a Dodge 5.9 RT the Tahoe responds with 15.78 to his 16.53.This is fun next is a ford Lightning you`ve got to be kidding he just turned a 12.71 @106mph talk about bursting my bubble.Maybe with a little bit of spray?Maybe a whole lot of spray???????Nah!But in the words of the Terminator I`LL BE BACK.I really enjoy the forum. whitt1

Good story. I just saw a Lightning dyno 389 rwhp with only a chip, pulley and intake. Damn near 500 rwtq too. Just gave me more incentive to build my new motor. Oh yea and spray it.

BTW, looks like your new, Welcome to the site.

Any plans for headers, pulleys, torque converter, free mods, blowers, N2O??? I have an UPD, pulleys (UD/OD alt), HPPIII, and HAMMS on order. I have ordered the HAMMS in February and have not heard anything yet... I have set up an appointment with the local exhaust to intall a single in/dual out 50 series deltaflow flowmaster. I'm very happy now but will be much happier by the end of the month!

I forgot to mention, what are your HPPIII settings?

whitt1,

What kind of mods do you have on your Tahoe? Are you 2wd? 3.73? etc. I'm thinking of putting on some mods on my Yukon. By the way, nice kills and one day you will be a lightning killer!

It was a legit dragstrip kill of 5.9 ram ext cab.
There where several good races out at mempis motorsports park thurs. One good race matched a ls1 reg.cab vs dakota r/t. I'm sure I saw both trucks run mid to high 14's, but when they raced the chevy won by less than a truck,13.5?@100+.
They were both sprayin' and prayin'. I talked to the bowtie racer afterward (5.3 2.42/1 open)about my 4.10/1 + auburn install and agreed he really needs a posi., especially on the street. I think a higher gear would help. Anyway it was a damngood kill and I hope he logs on and post his times,(knock me down another spot if he does).
