I have a 1999 silverado 5.3 and think I am pushing the limit of my injectors.

I know the 99s have smaller injectors than the newer years. Does anyone know the specifics? How about injector size for the 00+ trucks? Any help would be appreciated.

Would going to 26# fbody injectors be worth the change?

 

I have been trying to find that out myself. I would use the 98 f body if you need larger. They are 28 lb and you can even you use ford SVO 30 lb injectors too. The fords will drop right in. YOu will have to reset your l trims, either with your ls1 edit or a maf translator.

Maybe the 6 litres have the injectors you need also. I have had concerns over the fuel pump sizes but can`t find that out.Big injectors are nice but we need to make sure the pumps can handle the extra work.. Our f body pumps were really restrictive on the 99`s.

 

i know that the injectors are not the same for all 3 engines in 99. all have different gm part numbers. also you might want to look into the use of the new 8.1 injector cant tell you if wire connecors are the same though.

 

8.1L injectors pop right into the 5.3, they came with my s/c kit

 

The magnacharger is supposed to ship with 30 # injectors. Is it a fact that it comes with 8.1L injectors? How much would these run? I doubt they could be found used.

I have calculated that I need to be running at least 33# injectors.

 

I dont know what they go for, im sure they are not cheap. I don't know what they flow though
