Uh, that sucks ***. No on site fire units i guess. Maybe they need a truck with a tank and pump on it soon. Las time I was at Heartland Park road course in Topeka KS watching my uncle race last year. Some guy slammed right into the wall in a Porsche GT2 at one of the turns. His car slid down the track some and there was a small fire at the wall. It followed the fuel trail down to his car and boom. The whole car became involved. It took FOREVER for any rescue units to get to the guy. RA unit or fire truck. Few drivers actually drove out onto the infield, jumped out of their cars and tried to help the guy. Needless to say he died in his car. My uncle said he would never race there again after that deal. You figure a place like that would be fully prepared for anything like that. But I guess some arent. Bad deal!!

I know that some situations are unable to be helped but I keep a fire extinguisher in my truck especially since I have a wet n20 kit. You can get them for $25!

that sux about the loss and having to watch it burn

I read on a link about that fire (different forum I think), that the track did have a pumper truck but it didn't work or it was empty

I couldn't believe how many fire extinguishers they used.. I would have thought they would have been able to get it out with the first two or three.. I dont have any experience putting out fires but daaaamn. Seems like two guys working together with fresh ones could have knocked it out.. But then again like I said I havent done it before and its easy to watch it on a video and say I could have done it..
Makes you think a little about your own vehicle though.. I believe most insurance policies exclude "speed contest's".. (I know my boat policy does) And its not like you could tow it home and say it burned down in front of your house, Or someone stole it..
