Default 90 MPH Powerslide

Cruising home today from work on the interstate. Light drizzle. Doing about 75, passing a few cars. Cruise on not a care in the world. Guy comes flying up behind me so I give her a little throttle to just get out this guys way. I go to change lanes and the damn rear end breaks loose. I usually like powerslides but unexpected ones at somewhere around 90 are not fun. To borrow a phrase a buddy of mine uses all the time. You could not have driven a needle up my **** with a sledge hammer! Since the cam install and small tuning this truck is full of all kinds of suprises. I need new rubber sooner than I thought.

definately NOT a good feeling.

Put some new shoes on that thing, it'll help a little.

Tire rolls over enough sliding sideways to pinch the grass in between it and the wheel. The bead never comes off the rim though. Don't ask me how I know what you're talking about. Wasn't in the truck anyway.

I changed lanes and went to pass some slower cars. I nailed it and the roads were pretty much dry but, it had rained earlier. I guess I hit a slick spot and my tires were pretty worn already and about 90mph the rear starts to slide out. That was my experience with the 90mph Powerslide. I can still remember the feeling I got, it was much like getting kicked in the nads.

My truck hasnt gotten tailhappy in the rain a LOT since i did the 6.0/h/c swap. Pretty scary, i must say, especially with big 33" tires. Definitely a lot easier to do too.

It will help alot i had some pretty worn tires on mine when I had the rear slide loose in the rain. Got some new michelins and it helps a ton with traction. I was only going 60 though and plowed into a mail box. Trucks are definitely light in the rear.

It sure is not fun because when mine did it it was so fast I couldnt believe. It was pretty funny though afterwards because my cousin was behind me and he was like holy ****
