Default Thinking about getting 2000 GMC

OK right now I'm in the market for a 2000 White SCSB pickup. I was looking at a black one but being my daily driver it would just be way too hard to keep clean. I'm definetly goign to get one with the 5.3. Is there any gas mileage difference between the Z71 or the 2WD?? What all should I look for??? How about mileage, how high would anyone go ??? I was thinking about a 99 but heard of all the bad things and figured I would just get a 2000. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't think the 99s are that bad if you don't have to take it to a shop to do the minor stuff that may go wrong with it. As far as milage, that is up to your taste, and what you want to spend. I bought my 99 4wd with a lot of factory options with 56k miles for 10,500.

i want an extended cab. as far as gas mileage, which one gets better 2wd or 4wd. i want a 4wd just in case i ever need it, but then again the last time i used 4x4 on my explorer was almost 2 years ago, and i didnt need it. and i think the 2 wd would look better with some 18's on it.
