Default S10 vs Colorado

Last night I went out with prnracing in his s10 RCLB 4.3l 2wd free mods drag radials and ls1edit. We came across a guy in Colorado CCSB 2wd with a drop in K/N filter. Sense we had the traction advantage we could get him out the hole and get him buy a length but as soon as prn truck would go it to 3rd hear come the Colorado and would end up a half to a full length in front of us. It was fun they raced several times. prnracing got him a couple times but in general the Colorado would win. I keeped giving prn a hard time about getting beat by 5cyl told him that his truck is a turd and he needs to get a Colorado.

Didnt he have a big nitrous kit on there? My brother had a '00 blazer with a 4.3 in it. What a piece! Isnt the LT1 swap relatively easy on those? Help the guy out!

my buddy had a blazer 2wd with the 4.3 and he ran a 16.4 at the track. that was when i was running a 15.7. when we would go out on the street, he would be right next to me till like 60. i dont think that is that bad. i heard they make big torque at like 2300rpms?

I've seen some pretty quick scsb 4.3 s10s around here. One guy had a 5-speed with a couple of bolt-ons,chip and gears (I think 3.73s) and claimed he could out-run an modded ext. cab 5.3. I didn't believe him until I seen him do it. The 5.3 had an intake, muffler and a tb spacer. He killed the ext. cab 5.3 out of the hole and kept pulling on him the whole time. Everybody looked in his engine bay and he had no nitrous.

My 4.3l 01' truck went 13.29 on the bottle and 14.9 on the motor. My winter beater should go 13.9-14.2 with a cam and stock vortec heads. So some of them go. the winter beater is a 94' with vortec heads edelbrock intake with the stock throttlebody and programming. Not to mention some trans work.
