I was thinking about the tire weight thread, and thought that a truck weight thread would be a really good idea to have as a sticky. Just have people with different trucks(stock weight with no stereos, engine swaps, tranny swaps, etc, or at least close to stock) In different configurations who have actually weighed their trucks to post their documented weight. We could get them for all 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton configs, and I think that it would be really useful. Just for example have a list

1500
rcsb 2wd stepside V6...XXXX
rcsb 2wd fleetside V6...XXXX
rcsb 2wd stepside V8...XXXX
rcsb 2wd fleetside V8...XXXX
rcsb 4wd stepside V6...XXXX
rcsb 4wd fleetside V8...XXXX
Etc...

Or don't distinguish the difference in each truck fleetside/stepside, but just the weight difference in any fleet/stepside and people can calculate their own. You could also do the same thing with v6/v8 trucks. Just post the difference in the weight, and it would help people find out about what their trucks weigh, or perhaps one that they are looking to buy.

I think this is a good idea, but people need to post the wieght of thier truck w/o them in it! I know at my track we just drive up to the scale, read it and pull foward. If others are like this then just subtract the wieght of yourself....and be honest!

I noticed something.....

2bseen Silverado SS with no reductions and full stereo, 2 tvs, sub, and amps. 5385 without me in truck.

stealth03ss silverado ss...1 ten inch sub in box, small amp, towing package, 1/4 tank of gas and without ANY mods or driver weighs 5170.

Based on these two, I think the factory spec may end up being a good baseline.

I think that the factory curb weights must be w/o any gas, and probably a "base" model in that style.

So , do we want to compile all of the weights and just add them into the first post of this thread? Do yall just want to go by the "curb weight"?

Curb weight is w/o any fluids I believe. However, it is a good starting off point.

This thread needs a chart of sometype, like the fastest truck list, and wheel/tire weight thread. That way it would be the easiest for referencing. You could have columns for optional equipment like TV's, amps, toolboxes, hitches etc. Also one for what was removed from the truck, tailgate, seats, spare tire, hitch etc. Just a thought.

04BlackGmc Since you have a GMC factory order specs say that your trucks curb weight is 4572!! I did the weights based on Chevys.....I don't see why GM would weigh a truck with no fluids. Granted they probably would not be full of fuel. I can see these weights being taken from a base model though. There will be alot of varience in truck weights if we can't establish a baseline. What to do????
