Yeah, the 99 PCM blows goats. PCM is easy to change. Just unscrew the 2 connectors on the PCM and then pop the PCM loose. Pretty easy. But then you have to do the security re-learn. That is what takes some time.

Jared, now I see why you said the 99 pcm has "Gremlins" inside.

Hey smiths_3 I have some injectors from a 01 2500HD 6.0L. They will work in yours! Let me know what you can offer! Thanks!

Yeah, it was a pain in the ***. Hopefully when Allen updates it in July it will solve the problem. AND so I can get the use of Edit back.

I've got some 01 5.3 injectors with around 40000 miles on them.

I've got a 99 5.3L. What is the security re-learn, is there any down time when doing the swap (basically just un-bolt the 99 and drop in the new?) Right now I have the HPP3 installed, would my truck still run better if I swapped out the 99 HPP3 programmed computer for a stock 01-up computer? Does a newer computer really make it run that much better?
