Borrowed a g-tech from Pat (2003blue5.7) today and made two passes. Best et was 13.25 @108 on 92 octane fuel and 9 psi boost.
Hopefully it will pick up enough to get in the twelves when the timing issues are worked out.
Thanks Pat for the loan of the g-tech and for riding with me and working it!

Todd, I brake tourqed it but she still stumbles. Once the timing ramped up it spun the front tires a bit but we were on a industrial rd with salt on it. Should be good when we get the stumble out and the tune set.

Not sure. I think around 5500#.Its stock plus the turbo and intercooler and about 3/4 tank of 92 octane. There was me 200 Pat (2003blue5.7) I'd guess he is around 175 and my son was in the back seat at 40 lbs plus his simpson child seat with 5 point harness.

Yep, that would be nice. :) I wouldn't even think about modding my current truck anymore if I knew there was a bulletproof trans option(aftermarket or otherwise) for the SS trucks. A 4L80E is what they should've come with in the first place. GM screwed up on that one. :bang:

tex you should try and hook yourself up with an autotrack from a 2500, i wouldn't be suprized if that splined part right inside the case was the same for the 2500autotrack and your case.
the 2 cases i have(2500HD and a 1500 auto) look exactly the same on the out side, i am sure some of the internal parts are the same. maybe some research at the dealer would tell you too. only other thing i can think of is geting that input hub machined out to take the 4l80e shaft, can that type of machining be done?

I would not call that competition, unless you are happy with 350rwhp ;) Besides, what kind of truck owner would place the air inlet for their expensive turbo in that location? I guess if you live in SoCal where it never rains or snows, and the roads are always clean, then it would be fine. I doubt the tubo would last very long before needing a rebuild if you drive in any kind if weather. And how does that filter keep the turbo from sucking water when it is really wet outside? Is there some kind of shield that goes under the air cleaner?

Pat, I seen that system on a truck at the sema show. It seems interesting, simple install. Not sure how the cat will like being in front of the turbo. The old ford 2300's did it that way. I think our kit will be better for higher hp gains, only time will tell.

Changing trans now. Should be fixed today. We think it rolled a sprag. I have not made a 1/4 run yet with my g-tech. I was going to on saturday but the trans would not have it! I launched it a couple times on the back street here, best 60 foot was 1.88. I will hopefully get a chance to run it the full 1/4 this week but there is no guarantee.

Switching to a 80e on awd truck might be tuff. The 4l65e should be strong enough for normal hot rod truck. In a all out truck the 80e should be a good bet but kinda expensive.

I was thinking more along the lines of you already have the trans in the truck. The 65e from Rossler is 2700. The 80e from Rossler is 3200, plus 1200 for core (I bought my 80e from local junk yard)but won't bolt in without modifications. Not sure what it will cost to fit to a SS Silverado awd box. Will need two new driveshafts if we make the swap.
This would be easy for the two wheel drive guys, just change driveshaft. I am working with the awd SS model at this time so will keep working with the 65e.
For those who want to race, Rossler has a three speed model of the 60- 65 trans user that should increase power holding ability. Sure would be nice if someone could make an easy swap to stronger trans with overdrive.
