That's funny, the two cams for sale in the for sale thread SW OK members bought them.

When we get them together we will have to meet up at Sooner Motorplex

Another thing I thought about was how is the longevity of the 6.0 going to stand up to having a cam while constantly towing things. I pull some hefty grades around here and find myself in 3rd, (5 speed manual nv4500) pulling grades around 4500 rpm for quite some distances and I'm not concerned about doing so with the stock motor however will having a higher lift cam matter with regards to this at all?
What Did you end up going with?

I'm in very similar boat. Not a lot of towing info out there.
2007 k2500 lq4 dual exhaust, CAI, electric fans, basic tune, nv4500, 4.11, 305tires. Towing 26ft toy hauler, water, food, fuel, and two quads. 4th gear for hours. Steep grades suck. 3rd gear

I recently acquired a nbss intake and 87mm tb and bought the z link. I have not installed yet.

I have kicked around putting 241 heads on or milling 317 that are on there. Think I'm leaving heads alone until I find some 243/799s.

Still thinking about a cam would be worth it. I've read about the old man can, vinci hi performance HD torque stick or ultra torque cam.

Just my personal take, there's no cam out there that's going to significantly improve towing performance. And if the wrong cam is selected, towing performance can actually degrade. Need forced induction or more cubic inches.

This or forced induction and gears.......Especially if you want bigger tires.

im thinking of putting a cam in my truck this summer. im almost always pulling a trailer. during the week its a landscape trailer loaded with mowers and weekends its a 19' boat or 30' camper. id like more lowend so it pulls out easier and cruises more easily without downshift or unlocking convertor on slightest hill.

what cams would be good and if you have used one in a similar setup please tell me about it.

right now it just has a k&n intake and a magnaflow dual in/dual out cat back and diablosport tuner. 4:10 gears and 285/70/17's. may step upto 315's this summer. and ill get a real tune after the cam swap.
I run a vinci ultra torque in a 2003 2500 6.0. Other mods include stock 317 heads shaved .030, LPP stainless long tube headers, good exhaust and of course tune. It is a night and day difference vs stock. No problems at all dragging around a 9k toyhauler.

I installed the comp cams 266xfi 212/216-.520/.524-115lsa. also all the supporting mods-cold air intake,lt headers, tru duals,bb tune, efans. runs great and pulls greater. haven't done 243 heads, nnbs intake or conv, but woke the **** out of the 6.0
